The Kirkintilloch Canal Festival took place on the 25th and 26th August running for the first time over two days. On the Saturday, canal trips were available in the afternoon followed by live music in the evening. A street parade took place on Sunday afternoon celebrating regeneration on the canal and in Kirkintilloch. Events on Sunday took place on various sites throughout Kirkintilloch including boat trips, fun fairs, arts, craft, catering stalls, live music, street artists and more.
CSFT held a marquee in Peel Park where tree seed planting took place in conjunction with Scottish Water and their ‘soil pods'. Visitors could take away with them a range of literature and packets of wildflower seeds. CSFT also held a corporate market stall in the ‘Steps to the Future' section of the festival situated just outside Peel Park. Visitors could learn about CSFT's participation in regeneration as well as take away corporate literature.
