Site Highlights

Boghead Wood is situated on the site of a former quarry which was planted in 1992 and is now an attractive broadleaf woodland dominated by oak and ash. This small site is great for those who love wildlife as there is an abundance to see and hear from the sound of birdsong, including bullfinches and buzzards, to the sight of colourful wildflowers. The wetland area is also home to many insects and butterflies and you might even see frogspawn in the pond at springtime. Enjoy the views of the surrounding farmland and watch out for roe deer, foxes and rabbits, all of which have been seen in this lovely woodland.
