CSFT Hosts Community Meeting on Plans for Uphall Woodland

11 December 2008

Central Scotland Forest Trust (CSFT) will host a community consultation event on Wednesday 17 December for locals to view and discuss plans for Uphall Community Woodland.

The drop-in evening will be held from 4.30pm until 7pm at Uphall Community Education Centre, Strathbrock Place. The event is open to interested parties wishing to view and discuss plans for the Community Woodland.

CSFT is developing a range of environmental and access improvements at Uphall Community Woodland on behalf of West Lothian Council. These include thinning hawthorn shrubs to create an open path; planting native trees such as oak, birch and rowan to generate bio-diversity and installing benches and access controls.

Simon Rennie, chief executive of CSFT, said, "We are keen to hear the thoughts of the local community in West Lothian and any ideas they may have to improve the plans for Uphall Community Woodland. The opinion of local residents is extremely important to CSFT and West Lothian Council and we look forward to welcoming them on Wednesday 17th at the community centre."
