Social Impact Study Documents

Measuring what’s important – quality of life

The outcomes of environmental improvements have been skewed towards 'physical' rather than 'social' outcomes delivered. CSFT’s practical, repeatable methodology captures the most important outcome of all – the impact on the quality of people's lives.

The approach combines three key elements – numerical and perceptual indicators and outreach narrative. The numerical indicators are measured with numbers, e.g. number of people walking. The perceptual indicators assess people's feelings in a quantitative analysis. The outreach narrative provides colour and texture by capturing people's thoughts and expressions.

The 1st five documents explain the background and results of the Study. The 6th – the “Toolkit” – can be used (adapted if necessary) by any organization to measure the social outcomes of their projects.
